Case Studies
Healthcare Case Study
Medication errors have caused serious problems in healthcare organizations. Of particular concern are high alert medications because, as defined, these drugs have a higher likelihood of causing serious patient harm, or death, if administered incorrectly. A large Children’s hospital developed and deployed a LIT module in response to a sentinel or an unexpected event involving patient care related to high alert medications. The module was assigned to over 1600 clinicians within two weeks of the event.
Corporate Case Study
A national food service manufacturer was losing $5 million a year due to product waste, driving accidents, and on the job injuries. Many of these losses were the result of employee errors or non-adherence to company policies. The traditional training approaches being used interfered with routine work duties and increased overtime costs as personnel from other shifts had to cover the production line during training periods. The company realized their existing training was placing stress on the organization and workforce but was not producing results. They wanted a training solution that was more efficient and effective.
Education Case Study
A middle school in a large urban school district had just completed the administration of the 8th grade state mandated mathematics assessment (Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills, TAKS). Students had participated in 6 weeks of intensive preparation for the assessment using traditional classroom instruction. Yet, there were a number of low performing students that did not receive passing grades. Students had one opportunity to retake the state assessment. When school administration learned of LIT OnLine’s unique, patented approach to learning they wanted to test its effectiveness by using LIT in combination with classroom instruction to prepare these low performing students for the TAKS retake. |
